Michael Mörl – the opposite of a big talker
Sitting at a table he conscientiously counts a pile of coins. The glass full of coins stood next to the till in his brother’s butchers shop. Now the piggy bank is, so to speak, being slaughtered and produced €192 for Diospi Suyana in Peru. An impressive result. The former intensive care carer, who has been accompanying dying patients in a hospice for the past two months, has done more for our facilities in Curahuasi than he himself could recount.
For three and a half years he and his wife Elisabeth were part of our team in the Andes. Their fifth child saw the light of the world during their time overseas. For many years now Michael has supported our organisation through his active cooperation: he has organised 15 talks, negotiated with more than 50 companies and it was due to him that the donation of an oven from Bautzen went smoothly. The practical all-rounder has supported Diospi Suyana since 2004, i.e. for 16 long years.
People like him encourage us, we are proud and thankful that we can rely on such friendships and are spurred on by their never-tiring, selfless hard work. Thus the Saxonian who lives in the small village of Gaußig draws a path of blessing. And “blessing” is the fitting key word to describe his life, because the lean East-German, who does not speak a lot, is a devout Christian. 100% faith that inspires./KDJ
