The floor is given to civil engineer Udo Klemenz
Dear Diospi Suyana friends, this is my last weekly report before the festival, but this does not mean that we are done with everything. We hope that the unfinished washhouse and toilet house will also serve its purpose for the youthful festival participants and that we will be forgiven for certain improvisations.
By Saturday evening, we have to clear the construction site of all building materials, rubble, etc., according to the instructions of the festival management, and the whole area is accordingly hectic.
What have we achieved? The cistern has been stripped and cleaned as far as possible and has been filled since Tuesday afternoon. Since there is only a limited amount of water available from the municipal pipeline via a 1/2″ line, the filling process is also correspondingly slow.
In the lower building, the walls are plastered and the screed is laid, so that the installation of the sanitary objects can take place. The doors for the individual cabins are in progress in our own joinery. The rear exterior walls of the building are also plastered for the installation of stainless steel washing troughs. This assumes that the subcontractor from Cusco keeps its delivery and installation promise. The required sidewalks around the buildings are in progress and will be completed by Saturday evening.
The connection of the sewer to the municipal sewer system has been made, as well as the inspection shaft on our property. I hope that the roof of Building 1 will also be tiled by Saturday evening. The steel frame for the 2500 l buffer tank is being welded together.
With a reduced team we will tackle the remaining work after the festival.
Best wishes from Curahuasi and a blessed weekend, Udo
