At just 15 years old, Ruben is worried about his grandfather. His father is an alcoholic and Ruben doesn´t live with him. He has never known his mother – doesn´t know where she lives – or anything at all about her. He makes his home in Colpa, a mountain village within the Curahuasi vicinity.
Recently Ruben´s hands were caught in a grain milling machine and badly injured. It was an obvious case for Australian surgeon, Dr Michael Stathis. Unfortunately for Ruben, during his 2 week stay in the hospital no one from his family has come to visit. Not even one friend has come.
