Waiting for the hospital’s first patient
The man lying on the bed can breathe quite normally and is fit and healthy. For training purposes he is surrounded by doctors and nurses. But tomorrow or perhaps even today the first infected Corona-patient could be lying in our A+E unit.
Every day the members of staff go through the individual treatment steps. According to information ascertained by the regional government the first person living in a mountain village in Curahuasi District has contracted Corona.
In Peru officially 10,000 people are infected. Already some hospitals in Lima have run out of the necessary protective clothing. We are thankful for every day that we have in which we can prepare all of our departments to the best of our abilities for the possible patient-flood.
