My dear friends of Diospi Suyana, we decided to change Tuesday’s Combate de Angamos holiday (a battle of Peru vs. Chile in 1879) to Monday to enjoy a long weekend. On Tuesday, everyone was back at work on time and with new energy.
The constrution workers who are building the school finished the first floor and began work on the pavement of the second floor. Since they did not have the machine that moves the concrete, the workers had to carry the concrete mixture up the stairs in buckets. Therefore, the work on the digging for the preschool was delayed. The roof is stalled in its final phase and so there is a fine of up to $2,000 USD for the incomplete work according to the contract established with the company in charge.
The main floor of the coliseum is completely empty. We are now busy working on building the dressing rooms.
We still need to dig the three foundations for the preschool buildings. All around, we are filling the holes with the liquid concrete and earth to strengthen the foundations. It is a slow and time consuming job digging such enormous holes with shovels and wheelbarrows.
This is the construction report for now from Curahuasi. The construction team wishes you a blessed and relaxing weekend.
