“I have been working for 36 years now and I have never seen anything like it in my entire life”

A comptroller of the state agency “APCI” can hardly hold back his astonishment

Jorge Durand (second from the left) flew in from Lima this morning in order to inspect Diospi Suyana’s logistics department. For seven years now he has been surveying the plans of social organisations for the APCI. Before that he worked for the World Bank and travelled across the globe inspecting development aid projects.

He wandered through the hospital, inspected the school and, after a presentation given by Dr John, gave an interview.

He does not really know what he should say. “In my career I have seen so many projects I could not even start to count them all, but Diospi Suyana is unique!” The civil servant from Lima expounds his statement: “One can only undertake such a massive project if one trusts in God’s help and not having a guaranteed budget is really a one off!” He then continues: “Diospi Suyana is rooted in the region, motivates countless people to cooperate and passed the test of time a long time ago!”

That afternoon Sr Durand says these farewell words: “This visit to Diospi Suyana was a real treasure for me. I will think about it for a long time!“
