A power struggle between the President and Congress
During these hours millions of Peruvians are glued to their TV- and computer-screens. President Martin Vizcarra had dissolved Congress on Monday evening upon which Congress named the current Vice-President Merzedes Araoz as Head of State. The military supports Martin Vizcarra while most of the Congressmen and -women support Merzedes Araoz. No one knows what tomorrow will bring. Please pray for a peaceful solution to the conflict. The situation in Curahuasi is totally calm.
