A song as a greeting across the Atlantic
The news came as a shock to us all. Four weeks ago, our pediatricians at the Diospi Suyana Hospital diagnosed Lina Rehder (5) with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Matthias and Jennifer Rehder’s daughter was evacuated to Germany within two days and is currently undergoing treatment at the University Hospital in Hamburg.
Most cases of childhood lymphocytic leukemia are curable, but uncertainty always remains. No one knows how chemotherapy will work and what course the disease will take. It is written in the Book of Books: “Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you, O God, are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4) – Pray with us for healing for Lina and that the Rehders can continue their beneficial work in Peru in the future. (Caption: Lina stands next to her dad and her brother Janne next to his mom).
At the end of the weekend seminar, the participants sang a song for the Rehders. (See video). The song is very well known in Latin America. You can find the Spanish and German lyrics below. The studio version is also attached at the end of the report.
Here is the studio recording of Phil Wickham and Christine D’Clario. She will give a concert in the Diospi Suyana amphitheater on April 26th.
