Open-Air Crocheting

Social worker Carolin Klett reports about crochet mania:

So far, we have had four crocheting group meetings in Curahuasi. Many of the attending women are motivated to crochet items such as egg warmers, little flower hair clips, pot holders or finger puppets.

Some of the women are quite good at it, others are still learning. Dorothea Brady, Sabine Oswald and Carolin Klett support the group with their expertise.

Once the attendees are able to produce truly high-quality items, they can be sold in Europe. This would offer these mostly poor women a way to earn some extra money. Besides the opportunity to crochet and talk, our group meetings also include a brief devotional.
