Only three-and-a-half more months until the first event is due to take place in the new kindergarten building

Dear Friends, for us this week ends on Thursday afternoon, since Friday is once again a national bank holiday (Santa Rosa de Lima) and then the following Saturday is to be used for celebrating not for working.  On the occasion of the 12th jubilee of the opening of the hospital the new storey of the Media Centre and the two new operating theatres will be officially inaugurated.  It will be a big event, since all staff members and their families and everyone who worked in any capacity on the two building projects have been invited.
This week we have stripped the formwork of the first section of the roof and of the freely protruding balconies.  The workers were almost a bit fearful taking down the balconies’ supports; they had never seen balconies that protrude so far before.
The concrete lift has been rebuilt on the ground floor and will transport the screed in the near future.
The children’s toilet facilities in the ground floor are almost completely plastered and a washbasin with six taps has been stonewalled and concreted in the anteroom.  Next weeks the tilers will start their work here.
The front part of the building has seen a lot of changes this week.  The ramp wall that we concreted last week has been stripped of the formwork and the access ramp has been backfilled.  The final surface will be laid when the screed works are being done on the upper floor.  Currently the balustrades are being walled.
Cordial greetings and wishing you a good and blessed new week, Udo
