Yesterday morning Dr John gave his 1000th presentation about Diospi Suyana to the management of DIGIEM. The purpose was to attempt to speed up the issue of the missing defibrillator. The machine had supposedly been sighted in a storeroom in a suburb of Lima. Unfortunately one of the engineers called the missionary doctor at 4:30pm with bad news. One of the inspectors had arrived 10 minutes late meaning that the inspection of the donated equipment had to be delayed until the following day.
Meanwhile, the head of Customs for Air Freight had been fired – the reasons (most likely political) unknown. Here in Peru these things sometimes change so fast that it makes one’s head spin.
