One of the most influential skeptics now calls herself a convinced Christian

Ayaan Hirsi Ali turns her back on the New Atheism

According to Time magazine, she was one of the world’s most influential people in 2005. She was named European of the Year 2006 by Reader’s Digest. In 2006, she was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. In 2008, she received the Anisfeld-Wolf Book Award in the USA for her own autobiography. In 2012, the Axel Springer Academy awarded the Somali-born author the 2012 Honorary Prize and finally the Swiss Frank Schirrmacher Foundation presented her with the Frank Schirrmacher Prize in 2022. Her Wikipedia page is long and exciting. She almost brought down the Dutch government.

But Ayaan Hirsi Ali is more than just a well-known figure around the globe. She was one of the leading supporters of the New Atheists and friends with Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens and Sam Harris.

In a recent interview with the online platform Unherd, Ayaan Hirsi came out as a committed Christian. In her statement, she puts forward a number of arguments that support the truth of the Christian faith. But in the end, it was a personal experience with God that turned her world view upside down. In a figurative sense, she went from being Saul to Paul.

Her courageous testimony to the man on the cross will cost her many sympathies. She also sees the Woke movement as a threat to Western societies. You can view the interview at the following link: https://unherd.com/2023/11/why-i-am-now-a-christian/
