On Location At The Children’s House Construction Site

Dear Friends,

.

During an exhausting, 14-hour-long shopping trip with Oebele de Haan to Cusco, we were able to buy many of the materials needed for our Children’s House and hospital workshop: Plywood, sinks, toilets including accessories, metal sheets for the hospital generator enclosure and much more.

.

Working on the interior of the Children’s House is getting more and more hectic. The carpenters are installing doors and fittings, while the installation of the closets is also a top priority.

.

A water-pressure booster station has been installed on the ground floor, so water can be pumped into the tanks on he roof. We still need to hook up the two solar cells for our hot water supply. To run a little trial, we’ve installed a sink and toilet in one of the bathroom, but both still need to be connected to the piping.

.

While doing all this work on the inside, we are also working on the exterior. The old run-down house, that was on the property, has been torn down and we have started with the rebuild.

.

And, by plastering the interior walls, a small group of 4 people has revived the (until then) dormant construction site of the outpatient clinic extension.

.

Tonight, we had a lot of rain and some streets here in Curahuasi have been quite affected by it.

.

That’s the news from Curahuasi this week.

.

All the best, Udo.
