They drink by themselves or in groups, young people, men and women. Sometimes they drink beer, sometimes fermented corn juice. The results are devastating.

They are full of apathy, sitting on their chairs. The alcohol keeps them from working on improving their lives. Women are being beaten, children are neglected.

Alcohol holds whole village hostage. Those who want to help the highland Quechua Indians, need to conquer this problem. But how?

There is a rule for protestant Christians living in the Peruvian highlands: No drinking! Many of them kicked their addiction by seeking and focusing on Jesus Christ.
