Thinking internationally

In 2006, when the first employees arrived in Curahuasi, their group was almost exclusively from Germany.  The only non-German speaker was the Australian Lyndal Maxwell.  Eight years later, the picture has changed completely.  On Saturday, about 30 people sat in the stands of the sports hall to watch the Germany-Ghana match, the atmosphere resembling a nice family party.

Patriot Christian Bigalke painted the colours of the German flag on the faces of German spectators present, but the audience was as colourful as the World Cup itself.  On the benches sat missionaries from the United States, the Netherlands, Peru, Argentina, Paraguay, and Germany.  All spectators thoroughly enjoyed the fabulous match – without taking it too seriously.
