Honouring the cultural heritage
For one evening the sports hall of the Diospi-Suyana-School turned into a dance-floor on which the pupils presented themselves from their most lively side. The boys and girls performed a total of eight dances from various regions of Peru.
For one week the form-teachers had prepared their groups for this event. One dance teacher gave professional support. Our secretary Isela Malpica and Kindergarten teacher Janet Álvarez proved themselves yet again as being real folk-dancing specialists.
Some senior pupils were so motivated that they performed a “Número sorpresa” as a surprise-encore in the school yard (see above). Pupils and their parents were able to taste choice delicacies coming from the three regions of Peru (Coast, Mountains and Rainforest). /CB
