If we have God, we are never alone

A thank you to God and to Sra. Lilia Paredes

In the bible one can find the following words: “But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings.“ These words were written by the Old Testament prophet Malachi.  This verse is one of the classic lines of world literature.  2,500 thousand years after it was spoken it is still highly relevant.

On 6th June Pedro Castillo was voted as Head of State by a margin of 0.25%.  As candidate of the Communist Party „Peru libre“ he is due to implement the marxist programme written by Vladimir Cerrón‘s hand.  A few days before the second ballot we appealed to the Peruvian people warning of the dangers that lie in Communism.  Aleae iactae sunt and it goes without saying that once again Diospi Suyana tries to meet the presidential family.

Just before Primera Dama Sra. Lilia Paredes headed to Lima in order to attend her husband’s inauguration she welcomed the missionary doctors John in her house in Chugur, deep in the Peruvian mountainous region.  Pastor Oscar Suarez, the former president of the Protestant Church Council, was the initiator of the meeting.  Two domestic flights northwards and almost seven hours by car over adventurous, road-like surfaces preceded this historic meeting.  Incredible time-pressure, almost two accidents on the way, steep precipices directly next to the mountain roads and many moments of shock were all part of the expedition.

We see the time with the First Lady as a present directly from God’s hand.  She showed genuine interest in our life’s work and her spontaneous embraces after our presentation showed her huge sympathies.

Yesterday Pedro Castillo announced that he will not try to implement a communist programme.  Basically that means that he is distancing himself from the essential targets of the party “Peru libre”.  A further reason to offer a prayer of thanks to God.  Dr Klaus John stated that he has something extremely important in common with Pedro Castillo: wives with a very large heart.

We hope that the Presidential Couple will soon visit Diospi Suyana in Curahuasi.  A hospital that truly focuses on the poorest of the poor and to date has registered 427,000 patient visits.  Once again we say: Soli Deo Gloria!

Curahuasi-Cusco-Lima-Cajamarca-Chota-Tacabamba-Anguia-Chugur (a round-trip of > 3,500 km)

On Cajamarca‘s Plaza de Armas. Dra. Martina John and Pastor Oscar Suarez are waiting. When will Martín Chicona come with the four-wheel-drive?
Through this gate to Tacabamba. Then we only had further two hours drive over gravel tracks.
A journey of seven hours from Cajamarca Airport. Gravel roads and holes in the ground.
Through the night.
Everything was definitely worth it. The First Lady watches a presentation on Diospi Suyana with over 140 pictures
What a great honour. The First Lady listens to Diospi Suyana’s story in her private home.
In this Protestant Church in Chugur the wife of the Head of State was bade farewell to in a special night service.
On the way back towards Chota we passed the impressive Catholic Church in Anguia. On a wall (centre of the picture) one can read: “This is the country of faith“.
At 6a.m. we head for Chota.  A mere 18 hours later we arrive back in Curahuasi.  Sunrise over a valley in the mountains.  Immediately we call the old words of the Bible to mind:“ But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings!“
On the last part of the journey through Cajamarca State on Friday we passed impressive rock formations.
Part of the Yanacocha Mine, the biggest and most profitable gold-mine on the American double continent.
Faithful companions. Only two more hours then our ways will part. Pastor Oscar Suarez and driver Sr. Martín Chicona.
