I love you Mummy

Mother’s Day celebration at the Diospi-Suyana-School

Smiles all round and applause came regularly from the delighted audience.  Both were well-deserved, since all pupils of the Colegio Diospi Suyana played and sang their hearts out for their mothers.  When asked, who should be awarded the title of “Best Mum” each child put forward their own mothers’ name.  The evening’s motto was “I love you Mummy” and the programme was very varied and contained a good balance of serious and jovial contributions.

In South American societies mothers play an enormous role in the respective family. The fathers are conspicuous by their absence, but the mothers are almost always there, especially when the going gets tough.

Congratulations to all the pupils for their wonderful preparations.  As we have already seen at many other events the teachers’ involvement, under the leadership of Head of School Christian Bigalke, was paramount.  Everyone who attended the celebration can see that the Colegio is heading in the right direction.

Jesus Hurtado used typical expressions that are often said about mothers as a starting point for his profound sermon.
At the end of the evening some mothers also had to come on stage.
