Almost 2 months ago we shared the story of 9 year old Rodrigo who fractured his femur and had surgery performed in Hospital Diospi Suyana. After spending a week in the hospital, he went to stay with Lyndal Maxwell, one of our missionaries, while his leg healed. Rodrigo’s house has no running water, no electricity, no bathroom and only bare dirt floors. For a boy first on bed rest and then using crutches, this would have been a very difficult situation for both Rodrigo and his family.
Now 8 weeks later, after daily physical therapy, Rodrigo is walking normally and pain-free. Tomorrow he will finally go home to his family. Thanks to God and also to our international friends 100% of Rodrigo’s care throughout his 8 week ordeal has been covered by the hospital’s charity fund.
