High honour and great help at the right moment
Peru in the state of emergency. The head of police personifies the highest authority in the State. Yesterday General Teofilo Mariño Cahuana visited the missionary hospital accompanied by a delegation. A delicious lunch in the hospital’s dining room followed the traditional presentation.
Dr John’s mobile rang during the obligatory tour. Dr Zeier and his family were stuck at a police checkpoint in Sicuani, southern Peru. The missionary doctor passed the mobile on to the general and within seconds a further problem had been solved.
After his tour through the hospital the highest police officer remarked: “Now I understand why patients come from all over Peru to Curahuasi!”
