Happy Birthday Diospi-Suyana-School

Colourful, creative and upbeat

Humans plan and live their lives in projects: project A-levels, project university, project career, project family, etc.  Thinking about it, life itself is a project.
The 5th birthday of the Diospi-Suyana-School took account of this fact.  The children of the kindergarten, primary and secondary schools presented the projects that they had worked on for the past four days.  This year’s project week had an innovative approach: the 17 groups were made up of a cross-section of all classes and ages.  Some of the topics they dealt with were: ornithology, animal welfare, watercolour-painting, chess and robotics, local myths and legends.
Since God also has a project, namely to save mankind, a creative group headed by the school’s pastor pursued the project “Jesus” – in it they told their peers at other schools about Jesus.  The songs and sketches were easily understandable and left their mark.
The anniversary celebration last Friday was made up of the presentation of the many projects.  Going through the classrooms parents, relatives and friends marvelled at the colourful variety of the results.  Pupils and teachers contributed to the two-hour-long programme in the jam-packed sports hall.  Regular applause was a sign of the audience’s enthusiasm.
We thank God for our talented pupils and our dedicated teachers. The blessing from above obviously rests on our school.
What is also worth mentioning is that every year it is difficult to get back into the swing of regular lessons.  As head of school it is my sincerest hope that project work will become a more regular part of everyday school life.  It was with this goal that we trained our teaching staff back in February. /CB
