Governor Percy Medina Godoy takes over the patronage of the festival

22 days left

The message of Good Friday and Easter morning is the basis of our youth festival. Christians have been proclaiming the crucified and risen Christ for 2000 years. And in 22 days, we want to remind people of the radiance of faith in a dark world. “I am the light of the world!” The words of Jesus give us powerful courage in uncertain times.

Gourverneur Percy Medina Godoy

Percy Medina Godoy, Governor of the state of Apurimac, has once again taken on the role of patron. The tarpaulin on the front roof is to be laid in a few days. During the last three weeks, the construction company will bring the work to a successful conclusion with 30 people.

Overnight accommodation for 4,000 young people is being created on the campsites these days. Visitors will find a further 1,000 beds in Curahuasi’s hotels and guest houses. When setting up the large tents, Ruben Bereswill can draw on the experience of three festivals. Under his supervision, a number of employees from local church congregations got off to an excellent start last week.

Work is still in full swing in the rear guest house. The carpenters are installing the doors. Electricians are hanging the lights and 17 bathrooms are being fitted out.

It is quite obvious that time is running out again. But this has always been the case at Diospi Suyana.
