Accompanied by a high-ranking delegation
Yesterday lunchtime the Governor of Apurimac State Sr. Baltazar Lantarán Núñez drove up to the missionary hospital’s gates accompanied by four leading members of the regional government. His mission was to see the hospital’s equipment.
Dr Martina John and Dr Thomas Tielmann showed the visitors all of our departments. Special notice was taken of the equipment of our monitoring stations, our isolation wards, our operating theatre wing, our laboratories and our x-ray department.
The head of the regional government was visibly impressed with the hospital’s modern infrastructure. All inpatient care patient rooms are fitted with oxygen and aspiration. If necessary 10 patients can be look after in intensive care and can be ventilated. The tour took almost two hours.
For the 0.5mio people that live in Apurimac state there are 30 respirators, ten of which are located in the Hospital Diospi Suyana.
Next week the government and Diospi Suyana will sign an agreement: the government wants to support Diospi Suyana and Diospi Suyana in turn wants to work together with the state institutions. As of yesterday no patient has been tested positive in Apurimac. We expect to have 2-3 weeks left until the mass-run on the hospitals starts. /KDJ Day 8 of my quarantine.
