Yesterday in Africa and Now Thinking About Peru

 Vortrag Medical School

The Hansakers have big plans

Before the sun is up I am at the local CBS television station for an early morning interview.  I spontaneously invite the viewers to my lecture at the University of Amarillo.  Among the first to arrive on the 4th floor of the medical school are Perry and Jeanie Hunsaker.  The day before they came back to Texas from a humanitarian mission trip in Burundi.  As they drank their cozy cup of coffee at breakfast, they saw the TV interview.  Of course they both showed up to the presentation because they also want to start a mission hospital in Africa.  The hospitals that they saw last week in Burundi were completely outdated.  Perhaps hearing the story of Diospi Suyana was the final push to implement their plans.  “Try to equip the mission hospital with new equipment.” was my advice.  “The poor deserve the best medical treatment there is!”

Eighty students, doctors, and professors sit in two rooms connected via video. Most are not Christians.  In the audience are Muslims and Hindus. However, my presentation about Diospi Suyana always ends with the man on the cross and an empty grave.

“We have to go after hearing about Peru!” is the opinion of many of the listeners. We’ll see which of them make it to Curahuasi.
