The scales tell the things as they are
They are lying in the same children’s ward of the hospital. On the right a five-day-old baby is moving about in the incubator. The scales show 3.6kg – totally normal for a baby that age. On the left Dr Martina John is examining a five-year-old, which weighs 3.7kg – an unbelievable result, which is shattering at the same time.
