Feeling Good

Giving special attention to marginalized groups during the Christmas season is a global phenomena and tradition.

Many Diospi Suyana staff members participated in such a special event on Christmas Day. First, they filled about 300 bags with pasta, oats, rice, cakes as well as tooth brushes and tooth paste. Then, they split up into three groups and visited various Curahuasi neighborhoods and settlements.

The most memorable trip was the one to Cunac, a settlement that includes about 50 dwellings on the Apurímac river. There, people live in simple bamboo huts since, two years ago, their homes were destroyed by a major flood.

It’s a classic "win-win situation" when both, donor and recipient, are equally happy. On Christmas Day, this was the case! Photos by Deborah and Oebele de Haan.
