Christian Haupt and Daniel Müller get inspired
Orthopedic technician Peter Pretz from Austria (center) learned about Diospi Suyana from an orthopedic magazine. He wanted to see this “Lambarene” in a high valley of the Andes with his own eyes. Recently he was on site and gave many a valuable tip. His specialty is children who suffer from neurological disorders and require orthopedic aids.
In the near future, he plans to write a thesis that explores the question of why many patients in Peru receive orthopedic care so late in life.
The team of the Berlin startup company “Horus” also read a report about Diospi Suyana in an orthopedic journal. With one subject, they took a company trip to Peru. The high level of our ortho workshop has convinced them completely. The technicians would like to develop a transfemoral prosthesis that can be worn by the patient without regular maintenance by a specialist. Their target group are especially leg amputees in third world countries. https://horusprosthetics.com/en/
