English teacher: “Let’s support the Müllers”

Diospi Suyana missionaries experience a novice way of support

Diospi Suyana has roughly 1,000 patrons, who regularly make financial donations.  Our volunteer-staff who come from outside of Peru are supported solely by financial donations from their circle of supporters.  This is the only way to support the poorest of the poor at the hospital in the long run.  For two months now Daniel Müller is in charge of the orthopaedic workshop.  His wife, Rebecca, works as a beautician in the media team.  They recently received a special donation from South Germany and I quote from the corresponding letter:

“Last year when my husband and I heard that our friends (Daniel and Rebecca Müller) were heading to Diospi Suyana we were delighted, since we had only heard about the missionary hospital’s beginnings indirectly.

Due to various circumstances we were unable to support further missionaries at the time, but we decided that if we could raise extra-funds we would gladly pass them on to our friends.

A couple of weeks later a lady in church approached me and asked, if I knew of someone who could give her an “English-Refresher-Course”.  Furthermore she was looking for someone who had the qualifications to teach such a class.  And she asked me, a qualified English teacher!!!

Since last September 12 of us meet as a group once a week and we freshen up our knowledge of English in creative ways.  The above photo shows our last lesson before breaking up for the summer: “Afternoon Tea” with everything that goes with it!

The money I earn from these English classes I donate to Family Müller at Diospi Suyana – the Müllers are a reoccurring theme in our lessons.  Perhaps this project will motivate others to do something similar…!? “/ Maren F.
