Elisabeth Franke had a tough start

On the day of her Initiation, she was suddenly, completely, alone

Everything was planned so well. On August 5th Elisabeth Isaak was supposed to introduce her successor, Elisabeth Franke to her new work in the dental lab.

The Berlin native, Elisabeth Franke already looked forward to being able to ask questions concerning the procedures in the laboratory. Unfortunately, Elisabeth Isaak’s mother died unexpectedly. Instead of passing on her collected experiences on the initiation day, she had to leave Curahuasi as fast as possible.

Elisabeth Franke at 23 years of age suddenly found herself all alone with the technical dental machines. A new job, a new environment and an unknown culture. This was truly enough reason to panic. But the young missionary placed her situation in God’s hands. She felt called to Peru by God and trusted that the Almighty would not let her down.

Four months have passed and Elisabeth Franke did not fail her unfortunate start. With her diligence and concentration attributes,.her face radiates deep confidence and inner steadiness. As a missionary she doesn’t receive money from the hospital, but is being supported by a private circle of donors.

Elisabeth is glad that she is able to be work with Diospi Suyana. She is aiming for two years. The hospital’s director thinks, however, that they still have to talk about that in due time. Of course, four years … or five … or more… would be better.
