Every time officials from Lima come, we hold our breath. Instead of appreciating the blessing deriving from the Hospital Diospi Suyana, some bureaucrats look for flaws in the small print. Consequently a mountain of paperwork has to be filled out and issues have to be explained. The result is, these regular inspections impede the hospital activity.
Senorita Tatiana Mautino from the state agency APCI provided for us a ray of hope on Friday. She instantly understood the ramifications of our work for the poor population of Peru. “What can I do to help you”? she asked. Shortly afterwards she sat on a chair in the lab and donated blood. In a figurative sense, she gave a lot more than just her own blood for Diospi Suyana.
