A delayed Christmas party
That’s life. After several Christmas parties we had 30 Christmas cakes (Panetones) left over. Saving them till next Christmas would not be the best idea. No one will ever know who had this glorious brainwave, but on the 14th January a small expedition headed up into the mountains. After a two-and-a-half hour trek we reached our goal: the small mountain village of Antilla.
Our team was made up of hospital, colegio and media centre staff: Dapfnne Laja, René Neyra, Caroley Rojas, Cristi Quezada, Debora Center, Dra Ana Delgado and Doris Manco
On the central village green our friends organised an interesting programme full of games and songs. Naturally we spoke about the best ever Christmas present: the baby in the manger. We concluded with a celebratory meal on the green grass carpet. The hungry children enjoyed the cakes and the hot chocolate. When our team reached Curahuasi early that afternoon they were tired, but knew their efforts were worth it.
