During the night on our Covid-station

We hope that all patients will still be alive tomorrow

10 Covid-patients are spending the night here: 4 on the intensive care station, six in the rooms of the isolation ward.  Tomorrow morning a further Covid patient will be admitted.  A teenager who is suffering severely.  A year ago did not we think that Covid affected only the elderly?

That is the state of play on Saturday evening 8p.m.  To date we have treated 77 patients with severe symptoms.  18 of them died, 59 are still alive.  We thank God for this outstanding result.

As everywhere Diospi Suyana needs further members of staff.  Yesterday in an open letter we asked the Peruvian Head of State Francisco Sagasti for help.  An Emergency Bill from August 2020 permitted foreign doctors without bureaucratic hurdles to work at governmental hospitals during the pandemic.  Unfortunately this decree does not apply to missionary hospitals.  Where can the principle of equality before the law be found?

Responsibility huge, stress huge, hope huge.
