Proud of a piece of plastic

Our voluntary-social-one-year-workers receive their residence permits

They passed their A-Levels this summer and have just received their next award: the Carnet Extranjería.  With this chip-card in their wallets the young ladies can move about freely in Peru for at least one year.  Without this document they would have to leave and then immediately re-enter the country when their visas expire.

Bureaucratic procedures in Latin America are challenging to say the least and the outcome of any application is open until the very end.  Our young colleagues are understandably delighted – you need only look at their faces.  They will now enjoy their work at the hospital or the Colegio even more.

A big “Dankeschön” to Jose Rojas who led the ladies through the Peruvian bureaucratic maze.
