At the end of every August the Peruvian nurses celebrate their special day. Their employers – e.g. Diospi Suyana – organise a lovely celebration to express their gratitude for their services. This year the missionary hospital’s motto was “Felicidad -happiness in life”.
Referring to Psalm 1 nursing manager Damaris Hassfeld underlined the connection to God. People can find true happiness in life in God’s presence. Naturally happiness has many facets. In a ball pit nurses could look for chocolate, several group-dynamic exercises sharpened the sense of community and to crown the event the hospital served a delicious gateau.
Our 70 nurses mainly have contact to our inpatients. Thus they are the best advertisement when it comes to friendliness, diligence and conscientiousness. Many of them fully identify themselves with our mission’s Christian-humanitarian standard.
