The building team starts the New Year with zest and enthusiasm

We have a lot in the pipeline for 2019

Dear Friends, cordial greetings from Curahuasi and I wish all of you a blessed New Year 2019. Even in the short week of which I am reporting everybody was punctually back on board and worked hard. We used the not-so-busy days of the hospital to concrete a few small ramps out and about in order to create barrier-free access.

Apart from the bulkheads the roof of the operating theatre extension has been encased and the iron benders have started with the armouring. It is always torture for the workers to have to heave the heavy formwork elements into position.

The new staircase has been plastered and the screed works completed. I hope that we can start the tiling work next week.

Putting the light-weight partition walls in place is progressing nicely and the window builder has already put the window frames in place, which is something. Hopefully it was no flash in the pan, but that he will continue his work soon.

We have altered the supporting bearing of the access ramp at the building in such a way that we could brick up the outside wall with the missing window opening without having to dismantle the ramp. Needed materials can still be transported via the ramp and through the window opening to the upper levels.

Kind regards, Udo
