On a positive note
Dear friends, constant growth – isn’t that what we want in our lives too? Over the last few weeks, we have seen growth on the construction site every day. Yesterday’s photos are no longer up to date. I am therefore sending you old pictures with this report in the hope that you will join me in enjoying the construction progress on the building sites.
Colegio: We have concreted the ceiling above the ground floor of building A and are in the process of installing the reinforcement bars for the columns. Concreting the ceiling means 28 construction workers and 2 female construction workers have produced 52 cubic meters of concrete (about 110 tons) in 11.5 hours, transported it to the installation site, installed it and compacted it. So each of them moved about 3500 kg that day. By hand, without a crane, without a concrete pump.
Building B is still missing a support and a few square meters of brickwork. Once the brickwork has been completed, the walls of the elevator and the beams will be shuttered and concreted.
Residencia II: You can’t see much of this construction site yet. The excavation pit has been dug and the subsoil compacted for the foundations, which has caused the cups in the hospital cupboards to rattle. The construction team is currently preparing the reinforcement cages for the columns that will be connected to the foundations.
Christian meeting place: Work is being carried out on the ceilings and walls in the large hall. The parquet flooring is currently being prepared for laying in the workshop. Painting, plumbing and electrical work is carried out as far as possible in addition to the “normal” maintenance work.
An old petrol station advertisement said “There’s a lot to do – let’s get on with it” and the hard-working men and women from the maintenance (Mantenimiento) and construction (Construcion) departments are doing just that! With this in mind
Saludos de Curahuasi, Christian
(Legend picture above: The concrete was produced with 2 teams at the mixer and cable winch).
