Without any doubt, the Christmas party is always a major highlight for the kids that participate in one of the 11 Children’s Clubs. This year, the parties took place during normal club hours and about 400 kids came to the Children’s House during the week. The Christmas program combined the good news of God’s love with some great fun. There was something for everybody: a trampoline, a slide, a carousel as well as Fussball. And, of course, we had also prepared some yummy food for our young guests.
On Saturday, a special event took place: 400 children received Christmas backpacks donated by the Peruvian company Marfar from Lima. A company representative had traveled all the way from Lima to Curahuasi to be part of the festive act.
Many people might have forgotten the true meaning of Christmas: Jesus birth, God’s gift to us. The child in the manger died for our sins 33 years later on the cross. During all times, Jesus’ death has been a proof of the true love of God. It’s a message that’s easily understood whether you are a 10-year old student or a 50-year old university professor.
