State of play on the 3rd Advent

The stairwell has been built

Dear Friends, apart from one heavy thunderstorm with hail stones, we enjoyed extremely warm temperatures again this week. The farmers are worried about the harvest from the crops and seeds they have sown and are waiting desperately for rain.

So what news from the building site? The existing electrical distribution box, which stood in the middle of the new staircase, had to be relocated to an outer wall. This entailed a lot of chiselling work.

The stairwell is now encased, reinforced and is currently being concreted. Thus we have completed a substantial part of a difficult and time-consuming phase of construction.

The screed works are progressing steadily: 2/3 of the total area is finished.

The operating theatre’s masonry work is nearing completion. The former stairwell-workers will start their new jobs next week, namely, encasing and concreting the missing stiffening columns in the walls.

Apart from a bit of rain-gutter and one infeed box the rain-gutter and -pipe works have also been completed. We are currently having a bit of stress with the window maker, since he will not finish his work as promised by Christmas, as he still does not have all the aluminium profiles. Wishing you a blessed 3rd Advent, Udo.
