A rare enlargement of the thyroid gland
A 35 year-old Indian lady living in Puno State presented a greatly enlarge thyroid gland (struma) in the surgical consultation hours and said she was experiencing severe pain in her neck. Surgeons Dr Reinhard Kühn and Dr Matthias Stephani took the matter in hand. The pictures show the patient’s neck before and after surgery.
