Aumund Foundation supports Diospi Suyana in the training of Peruvian doctors

A real WIN-WIN situation

Over the years, many young Peruvian doctors have worked at the missionary hospital. For over 100 assistant doctors from various universities, these rotations at Diospi Suyana have been a great benefit as part of their professional training. In addition, some colleagues usually work with us for several years. There are essentially five factors that make our institution so interesting for Peruvians:

  • An international team
  • The hospital’s excellent facilities
  • The willingness of specialists to pass on their knowledge
  • Treating poor patients with respect on the basis of the Christian faith
  • Medicine in the name of charity and not for profit maximization

Residents at Diospi Suyana have a steep learning curve and undoubtedly benefit enormously from their stay in Curahuasi. But the national doctors are also a blessing for Diospi Suyana. They treat patients in the outpatient clinics, help with the night shifts and enrich the whole team with their enthusiasm.

We are delighted that the Aumund Foundation is supporting us in paying the salaries of these colleagues. The result is a real win-win situation for everyone involved in every respect. /KDJ
