Udo Klemenz: “On our three building sites everyone worked hard this week!”
2nd storey of the Media Centre: The external access ramp has been dismantled which means that we could put in the final soundproof window. All office doors have been glazed, the floor tiles have been laid all along the corridor in which the Team-Box is located; thus the Team-Box can get its 10mm laminated safety glass and its door in the next few days. The painter continues coating the walls and in the meantime the banisters are being made on the “green grass” (see the photo).
Operating Theatre Extension: the plastering work is nearing completion, while a few odds and ends (e.g. rooftop gutters and seams) for the roof still need to be done. In Lima we are currently ordering a special covering for the floor.
New-build Kindergarten: the individual foundations have all been concreted and we have started excavating the foundation beams. Since the weather was “typically British” we could not make that much progress on the earthworks front.
In Casabamba the state electricity company Electro Sur has finally replaced our aerial tower’s transformer, which was hit by lightning. Chris Welch and Oebele de Haan repaired the damage at Puerto Maldonado’s aerial tower, which was also hit by a severe thunderstorm.
Wishing you a good weekend and God’s blessing for the week ahead, Greetings Udo.
