For the last few weeks, Christian Bigalke and Nicolas Sierras have been hard at work, filling in lengthy application forms to obtain a school license. This type of license is issued by the local school authorities (UGEL).
Theoretically, the license could be issued before the end of the year, but given the bureaucratic challenges of many Peruvian authorities, timing is hard to predict.
Christian Bigalke will be running the school with the help of his Peruvian colleague Nicolas Sierras. Over the next few months, Mr. Sierras will help Diospi Suyana navigate the school system’s many requirements.
Last Tuesday, Christian Bigalke and Dr. John interviewed a couple of teachers from the Northern Peruvian city of Cajamarca. It seems as if the two, husband and wife, will join Christian Bigalke’s teaching staff, which would be a big step forward.
