At the Moroccan with Toni

If you want, I can get my laptop

After an intensive week with nine encounters, I’m heading back to Peru tomorrow. I feel a little groggy and treat myself to a slice of cake and a cappuccino at the Moroccan restaurant. Two men are sitting opposite me. They actually have an appointment, but one of them is coming down with the flu. He will soon be on his way home again.
The man with the blue jacket remains and somehow we both strike up a conversation.

Toni Schellhase and I. The former swimming instructor has taught many people to swim and saved them from drowning. Years ago, one of his colleagues also took away my fear of swimming. So I am deeply indebted to this guild.

It is said that representatives of the male sex are incapable of deep conversations. All nonsense, probably enemy propaganda. It takes two minutes and we are talking about a hospital in Peru not far from Machu Pichu. Toni traveled to Peru in the 1980s. The man shows interest. “So if you want, I can just get my laptop from home?” – And of course Toni wants to.

Ten minutes later, I boot up my mobile computer and focus on my audience. After talking to foundations, companies and supporters in all corners of Germany, my focus is now on Toni and him alone. Toni has Tempos in his pocket.
This is very helpful, as he occasionally has to wipe a tear from his eye. “I wish you all the best and God’s blessing!”.
A selfie, a hug and I’m back on the road in the cool fall weather.

May God be with him wherever he goes!

Here you can get the best cappuccino in Wiesbaden. The store has a long tradition and has been successfully run by a Berber from Morocco for years.
