An affair of the heart

130 adults and children illuminated the heart from many angles

From Friday evening to Sunday lunchtime, missionary families and Peruvian colleagues took part in a weekend seminar. The following eight lectures focused on different aspects of the heart.

John Lentink: How to keep your heart. Medical explanations with spiritual lexions
Lena Zeier: The inner garden as a comparison to the human heart
Daniel Wiens: The concept of the heart in the Hebrew language
Dr. Klaus-D. John: Where your treasure is, there is your heart. The meaning of personal idols
J. E. : Healing a broken heart. A life testimony
Dr. Pepita Gonzalez: How do I achieve a pure heart?
Dr. Lukas Steffen: A heart that trusts in God.
Pastor Sr. Josue Gallegos Salas: God looks at the heart.

Many dedicated employees had invested a lot of time, work and ideas in these three days in the run-up to the event. Not in vain, because the hours spent together motivated and encouraged everyone. In the book of books, the heart is mentioned over a thousand times. So there are good reasons for doctors and theologians to think about the heart. John Lentink, ultrasound expert for the heart, shows many photos and videos. The heart on the screen, however, is the prostate.
Great atmosphere at the kick-off event on Friday evening
A hilarious sketch: Rebecca Wiens (left) as the doctor, Evelyn Schneider as the patient (right). Of course, it’s about the Quechua woman’s heart.
Dr. Martina John throws a heart-shaped box of chocolates into the crowd.
Four meals together. There was, of course, a “hearty meal”.
There was a lot of laughter.
On Saturday afternoon, the participants went through 10 stations. Here in the picture, resuscitation is being practiced to the sound of hearty rock music.
A performance by children and young people. The heart (right) danced along.
Joshua Lentink proudly holds up his prize. He will probably never forget this moment.
Hospital pastor Sr. Josue Gallegos Salas gave the sermon at the Sunday morning service.
