Alarm in our Media Centre

Extra shift for Chris Welch

A red light pops up on the screen. The bad news comes from Casabamba: The tower was hit by lightning and the control unit of our transmission facility was knocked out. Thus several thousands of people living in Chincheros Province could no longer listen into our radio programme.

Casabamba is a good six hour drive from Curahuasi; it equates to one journey across Germany.

Chris Welch was actually on holiday, but the red warning light is more important. Via telemetry the Australian was able to successfully access the control unit in Casabamba. He reset the system and the transmission functioned perfectly again. The screen shots prove that everything is back in the green zone. Congratulations Chris!

Our transmission facility in Casabamba has stopped functioning: but where does the problem lie?
Everything is back in the green zone and we can continue to relax and enjoy our holiday.
