Covid 19 as an excuse
Many Peruvian hospital refuse to treat patients suffering from the Coronavirus. This attitude causes a huge collateral damage in the medical sphere. Authorities remain closed, phone calls are not answered and anything that even remotely points to “Covid” seems to justify the bureaucracy’s snail’s pace.
But even during a pandemic a country must be seen as being able to act. At times the impression that Covid 19 is the excuse not to do anything almost crushes one. The people who make up society are the ones who suffer.
The above picture shows the missionary hospital’s waiting room. At the entrance all patients are screened as to whether they showed any suspicious symptoms. If necessary our team performs a quick test outside the building. Wearing masks and social distance reduce the risk of infection. In this way we can help patients who are suffering acutely.
