He comes from the rainforest in the state of Pasco
Robert (15) lives near the town of Oxapampa in the department of Pasco. His left leg has been missing since birth. Through some contacts he ended up in the orthopaedic workshop of the Diospi Suyana Hospital. In the meantime, he has become well accustomed to his prosthesis. Most of our patients come from the southern states of Apurimac, Cusco, Puno, Madre de Dios, Arequipa and Ayacucho. Interestingly, almost 15,000 came from the distant capital Lima. The bus journey from Lima to Curahuasi takes between 18 and 20 hours.
