Will the Amphitheatre’s roof be ready in time?

49 days until the big anniversary celebration

Hello Friends, another week has flown by and we have crossed the 50 day countdown mark until our anniversary celebration.

The drywall works are nearly completed.  In the third stage of construction all stud partitions are in place and are being filled before the painter can start his work.

The casings of the ventilation ducts in the first and second stages of construction are 99% complete and only need to be filled.  In the third stage of construction they run above the ceiling.

In order that the whole ceiling grid is completed a finishing touch needs to be applied to it in the first stage of construction.  We will start work on the ceiling panels once the screed has been sanded down.  The painter has completed all his work in the first and second stages of construction and is currently varnishing the metal door framings.  All the walls in the intensive care unit have been tiled.

The exterior painting of the Orthopaedic Workshop is complete and work has started on the interior painting.  The windows have been put into place and the electrician is putting the electrical cables into the cladding tubes.  Here as well we can be pleased how the work is progressing.

Good progress is also being made in the Amphitheatre.  Almost all the rear stanchions have been put into place – some of them manually without any crane-support.  A lot of effort is going into finishing the secondary girders.  A barrier-free access from the Media Centre to the Amphitheatre is currently being concreted.

Reporting on our aerial tower building sites: the detected faults in Puerto Maldonado have been corrected and photos of the current state of the building site have been sent to us.

In Casabamba and Puno it looks as if the antennae will be able to be erected within the next 10-14 days.  Currently we do not have an exact timetable.

I send you all cordial greetings from Curahuasi and wish you a blessed weekend, Udo
