Changing contact persons in Peruvian politics

In office today, gone tomorrow

It is extremely hard work establishing and maintaining contacts to public officials.  Especially in a country like Peru many decisions are made on a personal level.  Vitamin C (Connections) helps all year round.

On 31st August, the day of our 10th anniversary celebrations, several dignitaries accompanied the President to Curahuasi.  We were delighted about these high-ranking officials.  But not even five months later we have a whole new set of contact persons.

Presidential adviser Maximo San Roman (left) was the key-person who ensured that the President attended our celebrations.  He resigned end of last year taking everyone by surprise.  Health Minister Dra. Patricia Garcia (centre) lost her job middle of September.  Thus we now need to try to get an audience with her successor.  Sr. Carlos Valdez (right), the Deputy Minister for Communications, threw in the towel ten days ago.  He supported us with goodwill and sympathy in the development of our media network.

One struggles on little by little – this is also true for Diospi Suyana’s paths through the bureaucratic hurdles and procedures.  Each time that the right door opens at the right time is a miracle of God. /KDJ
