What is the connection between Umckaloabo and Diospi Suyana?

From South Africa to South America

Pastor Kurt Fischer belongs to the type of people who hit the nail on the head.  He knows exactly why the Antonius Church in Engelsbrand is bursting at the seams.  Diospi Suyana can be compared to the South African plant Pelargonie: out of its roots the anti-bronchitis medicine Umckaloabo is extracted.

Impossible to pronounce, but well worth talking about!

Most of the audience, made up of people living in Baden Württemberg, having endured 80 minutes on hard church pews would agree: the talk about Diospi Suyana brought their hearts under its spell.  A drug-therapy-group from a neighbouring town has also come; “I wanted that my whole group hear about it!” comments the group’s leader.  If God can build a modern hospital out of nothing, then it is worth calling upon his name when we are going through dark times.  And that is why the missionary organisation is called Diospi Suyana – we trust in God.

Even 15 years on the Quechua-expression is still impossible to pronounce for some, but the content is well worth talking about.

Pastor Kurt Fischer. The rogue sparkles in his eyes.
